FERRY TOWNSHIP — A 46-year-old Shelby man died Wednesday morning after being shot at a home in the 4000 block of E. Buchanan Road, according to the Oceana County Sheriff’s Office.

Per an Aug. 14 news release, deputies and Michigan State Police troopers were dispatched to the scene at 7:12 a.m. and found the man dead from his injuries. Authorities said the incident remains under investigation, with MSP Crime Lab personnel processing the scene.

Life Ambulance, Ferry Township first responders, Mason County sheriff’s detectives and Ludington police detectives also assisted.

The sheriff’s office said there is no known threat to the public. No additional details have been released.
