Some of the things I’m seeing in the weather data are weather conditions of fall.

In my meteorologist mind, today is the early part of late summer. I don’t want to call it late summer yet. That reality is about two weeks away.

But when we look at a few weather parameters we see fall.

First let’s look at the jetstream. Easy now. Don’t leave me.

The jetstream is the strong band of wind around the northern hemisphere. At this time of year the south side of the jetstream has hot summer weather and north of the jetstream has cool fallish weather.

Watch the 15 day forecast of the jetstream. Watch for a “U” shaped bend form in the jetstream, allowing cooler air to move into the Great Lakes region.
