Through Wednesday

A very warm start to the work week, with highs in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees through Wednesday. There will be only isolated thunderstorms or shower chances in the mountains on Tuesday and isolated ones on Wednesday afternoon.

Humidity is also building, making it feel more uncomfortable each day. By Wednesday and Thursday, that typical summertime humid air is back.

Late-week rain

Late week, rain chances will increase across the Carolinas, which shuffles in highs closer to average for late September. Thursday will be in the low to mid 80s with rain arriving in the afternoon and evening.

Right now, rain looks to be widespread overnight, creating a rough Friday morning commute.
