A federal judge in Portland has ruled that a Saudi women’s rights activist can move forward with her civil lawsuit accusing three former executives of a foreign software company of computer fraud and abuse.

Saudi activist Louijain Hathloul Alhathloul can argue that the executives targeted her in the U.S. by hacking into her iPhone and monitoring her private communications while she was attending a women’s conference in Washington, D.C, in 2017, U.S. District Judge Karin J. Immergut decided in a 56-page opinion Wednesday.

Her allegation that the hacking was deliberate is allowed to proceed, the judge ruled.
