HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) -- Police with the Hampton Police Division are asking for the public's assistance in locating two suspects accused of stealing a 2-year-old French Bulldog at gunpoint.

According to officials, on Wednesday around 5:30 p.m., police were notified of a robbery that occurred in the 2500 block of North Campus Parkway.

An initial investigation revealed that a vehicle with three men inside stopped by the victim, who was walking his 2-year-old French Bulldog at the time. One of the suspects then exited the vehicle, displayed his firearm and then took the dog, police said.

Police said the suspects fled the scene in the vehicle after taking the dog.

Shortly after the armed robbery, police were able to locate the suspect vehicle in Newport News. Police then arrested 21-year-old
