LANSING, Mich. (WILX) -A man from Prescott, Georgia, will stand trial in Michigan for multiple sex abuse-related felonies, Attorney General Dana Nessel announced Thursday.

James Carter, 62, is accused of sexually assaulting and accosting a minor and ‘another victim’ in 2008.

Carter was charged by the Hillsdale County in Aug. of 2011 but fled to Georgia.

He was arraigned and extradited to Hillsdale County in March of this year as part of Operation Survivor Justice, a partnership with U.S. Marshals. The partnership aims to apprehend Michigan fugitives facing sexual assault charges.
