LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Thursday afternoon, the South Lansing Development Corporation and the Tri-County Office on Aging were at the Lansing Farmers Market.
Their goal was to get older adults registered for the Senior Project Fresh assistance program.
It provides eligible seniors with $25 to buy fresh fruit and veggies at Michigan Farmers Markets.
“When you’re talking about seniors who are making choices right now about whether to buy food or to buy medicine, particularly in this environment, it’s a benefit, it’s a blessing for many of them to just be able to get that free 25 bucks... they can use it right here.
