DIMONDALE, Mich. (WILX) - For the first time in more than 70 years, a new school building is opening its doors in Dimondale.
District leaders, community members, and students gathered Wednesday for a ribbon cutting at the brand-new Dimondale Elementary School.
Built with voter-approved funding in 2021 and 2024, the school was designed with more than classrooms in mind. The building features secure entrances, larger classrooms, a new playground, and bright natural lighting.
“Dimondale is really old, so something new and fresh will really light up the village and have something to look forward to,” said substitute teacher Jada Gnass.
While the school’s primary purpose is for learning, its design allows the community to use some spaces for events if needed.
