RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - The winner of Virginia’s largest jackpot ever has decided to stay anonymous.

The ticket for the $348 million jackpot in the June 27 Mega Millions drawing was purchased in Burgess, Virginia.

The winner chose to take a one-time cash option of $155.6 million before taxes.

“About four weeks after the drawing, the winner walked into Virginia Lottery headquarters in Richmond and presented Lottery officials with that ticket,” Virginia Lottery said in a news release on Thursday.

Virginia law allows winners of a prize worth $1 million or more to claim the prize anonymously.

This was the 10th Mega Millions jackpack won in Virginia since 2002.
