A rescue was completed for a woman in the Arkansas River near the 96th Street bridge in Jenks, Thursday afternoon.
Jenks Police closed the bridge around 1:30 p.m. after 911 callers reported a woman seen in the water. Jenks Police told News On 6's Reagan Ledbetter that the woman was stuck on a sandbar and kept getting pulled away in the current.
Just before 2 p.m., she was seen being hoisted into the rescue boat, appearing to give the first responder a hug in the process.
So far, it's unclear why she was in the water or her current condition.
Traffic is back open in the area. .
