A new 60-unit development by the Thorold Municipal Non-Profit Housing Corp. expects to be accepting tenants toward the end of the year.
At this week’s regular meeting of Thorold city council, corporation chair John Kenny gave an update on the project at 5 Baker St. — a five-storey building for seniors. The project took four years to complete and is set to be occupied by November, said Kenny. People interested in renting units are invited to take part in an open house this Saturday, by appointment only.
With a mix of 60 one- and two-bedroom units and monthly rent ranging from $1,650 to $2,050 plus hydro, the building will also offer a limited number of units considered “affordable,” Kenny said.
