The West Lincoln Chamber of Commerce closed its Smithville office July 31, but chamber officials say services to its 100-plus members will not be affected.

Robin Eidt, the chamber’s president, said the decision to close the office and operate remotely was not made lightly.

“We knew foot traffic to the office was almost non-existent and the cost of operating a physical space was impacting some of the funds that we could allocate toward supporting our chamber members as well as the West Lincoln community in new ways,” Eidt said.

“We are confident that we can support West Lincoln in many ways in the absence of a brick-and-mortar location and we are excited about how we continue to evolve as an organization.”
