DragonMarsh in Riverside invites people to to make catnip mice for cats at the Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center, at drop-in events 2-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 16 and 17 at the store at 3643 University Ave.

The Mouse Making Madness events are open to people of all ages and skill levels, and participants may drop in for as little as 15 minutes or stay the full four hours. Miss Pepper Jade, the DragonMarsh store cat, will be on hand to welcome participants, according to a news release from DragonMarsh.

Sewing experience is not required, as participants can choose to cut patterns, stuff toys or sew.

Fabric scraps, patterns and sewing supplies, plus catnip and other herbs for stuffing the toys, will be provided, according to the news release.

The entry fee is a donation of any pet
