New information about Brandon Blackstock ’s tragic passing has come to light.

More than one week after Kelly Clarkson ’s ex-husband died on Aug. 7 at age 48, his death certificate is sharing more insight into his health as he battled melanoma. According to his death certificate, obtained by People , seizures were listed as “significant conditions contributing to death but not resulting in the underlying cause . ”

Silver Bow County Coroner Dan Hollis previously confirmed to E! News that the former music manager died following his battle with melanoma, listing the manner of death as from natural causes.

"Brandon Blackstock passed away peacefully at his home in Butte, Montana on August 7th," he said, "under hospice care surrounded by his family."
