CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – Charleston attorney Mullins McLeod is ignoring calls to drop out of the 2026 race for South Carolina governor following the release of dashcam footage from his arrest in May.

In a direct-to-camera message posted Aug. 14 to his campaign’s Facebook page, McLeod did not specifically reference the video, but said he was “confident [the establishment] would come for me.”

“I share with the voters that no matter how much they try to silence me, no matter how much they try to get me out of this race that I would not stand down,” he said.
