Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott discussed Baltimore’s crime reduction efforts and emphasized that while he’s happy with the progress, the job is not done.

When announcing the federal takeover of the Metropolitan Police Department and the deployment of the National Guard in Washington D.C., on Monday, President Donald Trump said Baltimore and a few other cities in the country were “so far gone” when it came to addressing violent crime.

Scott spoke with WBAL’s C4 and Bryan Nehman Thursday morning. When asked about the historic drop of crime in Baltimore and Trump’s comments, Scott said he nor D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser claimed to have solved the issue of violent crime; however, they acknowledged the historic lows when it comes to the statistics.
