HHS is reviving a task force on childhood vaccine safety that ended its work almost 30 years ago, appeasing an anti-vaccine group founded by Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

The Task Force on Safer Childhood Vaccines will, in part, work on making recommendations on the development and "refinement" of childhood vaccines that "result in fewer and less serious adverse reactions" than those currently on the market, according to an HHS press release .

NIH Director Jay Bhattacharya, MD, PhD, will serve as chairman of the task force, which will be comprised of senior leadership from NIH, FDA, and CDC, the release stated.
