The 14th annual Banana Festival returns to Sacramento’s Land Park this weekend.

The event starts at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. It features a kids zone, live music, craft vendors, a banana parade, art and fashion shows and more.

The festival raises money for the National Academic Youth Corps. Inc. which hosts programming for underserved youth at the Sojourner Truth African Heritage Museum.

Organizers say this year’s theme is old school so bands will play music from funk, R&B, soul and pop eras.

People are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

The festival hours end at 7 p.m. on Saturday and 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
