TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — In recent years, focusing on the essential skill of reading has been one of Idaho’s biggest efforts.
“Today’s students are coming to us with more needs than ever, and so it’s essential that we give them the skills they need to be essential in school. That starts with a strong foundation in reading,” says Nancy Murphy, Director of Elementary Programs.
The Twin Falls School District has made a priority to have students reading by third grade.
First-grade teacher Anza Fullmer says success is something that they start working on early, teaching students the sounds of letters and how to put them together.
