WESTFIELD — Starting Colts slot receiver Josh Downs left Thursday night’s joint practice against the Packers with a hamstring injury, coach Shane Steichen said.
Downs found trainers on the sideline midway through the practice, motioned to his upper hamstring and tried to stretch it out for a couple of minutes, then left the practice field with a trainer.
The third-year receiver plays a key role for the Indianapolis offense. Working out of the slot, Downs has averaged 70 catches and 787 receiving yards in his first two seasons in the NFL.
