MONTGOMERY, Ala. —

It's officially been one year on the job for AHSAA Executive Director Heath Harmon.

Harmon officially took over in early July and now he's beginning year two, kicking things off at the annual AHSAA media day and Kickoff Classic press conference.

There he spoke with the media on the state of high school sports in Alabama. Harmon addressed various issues including non-compliant transfers and NIL.

Currently, Alabama prohibits NIL for high school athletes. Harmon said that he has tasked assistant director Caleb Ross and himself with becoming 'experts' on NIL.
