GETTYSBURG, Pa. — Hundreds of motorcycles are making their way to Shanksville, Somerset County as they prepare to honor those who died during the Sept. 11 attacks.

“For people in our generation, this was our Pearl Harbor," said Dan Kenney, executive board member for America's 911 Foundation, Inc. "That kind of puts it into perspective.”

On Thursday, people gathered at the Battlefield Harley Davidson in Gettysburg to take part in the annual 'America's 9/11 Ride.' The memorial ride is organized by America's 911 Foundation, Inc. and raises money for scholarships for children of first responders and remembers the nearly 3,000 people who died that day.

The ride will set off in Shanksville and make stops in Washington D.C. and New York.
