PINE BLUFF, Ark. - Family and friends paid their final respects to a pioneer of emergency medical services in Jefferson County, 77-year-old Ron Lusby, who died on Sunday.
Lusby’s funeral was held Thursday at the Graceland Cemetery in Pine Bluff. Dwayne Aalseth, his former coworker and the operations director for The Emergency Ambulance Service Inc., says he passed due to health reasons, but he was a trailblazer for everyone in medical services in the county.
Lusby founded the Emergency Ambulance Service Inc. in 1972, after his father, Don Lusby, began operating an ambulance service in Pine Bluff.
“In his heyday, he rode on records service, he rode on the ambulance service, he owned a limo service, he owned a gas station,” Aalseth said.
