Officials for another two stores have announced their closure at the Empire Mall in Sioux Falls: global retail chain Claire’s and the company’s other brand, ICING .

Claire’s, known for youth jewelry, fashion accessories and free ear piercings, as well as ICING, marketed toward adult women, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Aug. 6 for the second time in seven years.

An Aug. 6 press release from Claire’s stated that the company is “commencing voluntary Chapter 11 proceedings” to “maximize the value of its business.”

The majority of Claire's locations in the U.S. and the rest of North America will remain open as the company "continues to explore all strategic alternatives," according to the news release .
