LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — On Thursday, students celebrated their entry into the world of emergency medical technicians with a graduation ceremony.

The ceremony marked the graduation of 25 students from Clark County’s EMT academy, which focuses on basic EMT certifications. Students have the option to continue their education by enrolling in an advanced EMT cohort.

With a basic EMT background, graduates have acquired the skills necessary to pursue jobs in firefighting, 911 emergency services or paramedic work, among other careers, officials said.

The advanced EMT certification program begins at the academy in early October.
