(FOX40.COM) – A 14-year-old is recovering in the hospital after being shot in the face on Wednesday night.
The shooting happened just after 10 p.m. near 42nd Street and Apostolo Circle. The teen was dropped off at Kaiser in South Sacramento, according to investigators.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said a new Kaiser Permanente policy kept them from quickly getting video that could have helped catch the shooter.
At least one person was detained at the scene, but without a suspect, deputies said their next step was to review hospital surveillance to see who brought the victim in and if they could spot other clues.
