LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Weeks after a house explosion in Jeffersonville injured five people, one person has died.

The coroner's office identified the man as 53-year-old Patrick Grimes on Thursday.

In an update Wednesday night, the Atkinson family said Grimes, known as "Timmy," was on the path to recovery but died due to medical complications.

“[Timmy] was an absolute amazing man, and will truly-truly be missed by many,” the family shared in an update on GoFundMe .

The fundraiser has collected more than $8,000 in donations to help support the family’s medical expenses, and now funeral costs.

According to the update, two family members injured in the explosion have since been released from the hospital.
