WALLACE, Idaho – The Shoshone County Sheriff’s Office might face significant cuts due to a $930,000 budget deficit, Sheriff Holly Lindsey announced on Thursday. A budget workshop was held Wednesday in Wallace to discuss potential impacts.
Sheriff Lindsey highlighted that up to six patrol deputies could be cut if the deficit is not addressed.
“Like I said, as we start losing people, I mean everything shifts down and we we’ll have to do the best we can. And I will do the best that we can. But there’s only so much you can do with so much time,” Lindsey stated.
In addition to the deputy cuts, there could also be reductions in field services and health care. Lindsey emphasized that these cuts are not yet official but wanted to inform the community about possible changes.
