DENVER (KDVR) — Several power outages this year have many business owners along the Broadway corridor between 6th Avenue and Interstate 25 concerned.

The Players Pub and other bars feature electronic displays and gaming machines. Restaurants stand to lose huge investments in food when the power goes out. Without the ability to even cash out customers, the establishments have to close and send staff members home.

One evening closure can cause a business to lose more than $15,000.

“Lost sales are always a factor and when that is compiled on top of you know raising wages and raising rents and other issues in the area, it’s just a lot,” Players Pub owner Caitlin Braun told FOX31.
