Proposed legislation by Blake Moore to target counterfeit and pirated imports into the U.S.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Blake Moore (R-UT) has introduced bipartisan legislation into the 119 th Congress that would halt the entry of counterfeit and pirated import goods into the United States.

The Sharing of Information with Respect to Suspected Violations of Intellectual Property Rights Act would change how the federal U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency shares the packing and shipping information of suspected counterfeit products with key intellectual property rights holders, transportation carriers and e-commerce platforms.

“This bill will unlock real-time intelligence sharing between the CBP and the private sector that will help shut down routes exploited by counterfeit operations and cut off counterfeit flows before they reach American shores,” the Utah congr
