Oscar Pareja said the search for another left winger went out before the start of the 2025 MLS season.

Once the team's scouting department came back with its search results during the summer, Tyrese Spicer was the player that fit the profile Pareja was looking for — an attack-oriented left-footed player with pace, strength and a knack for goals.

On Aug. 1, the Lions made the move official, sending $500,000 in General Allocation Money split into two seasons to Toronto FC for the player.
