TREASURE COUNTY, Mont. – Felony warrants have been issued for Ronald and Chad Schubert from Belleville, Michigan, who are accused of multiple wildlife violations in Montana.

According to Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks (FWP), the Schuberts allegedly unlawfully possessed a trophy bull elk in Treasure County. Chad Schubert faces additional charges, including tampering with evidence and several misdemeanors such as hunting out of season and trespassing.

Investigators stated that the elk was killed on private land without a permit during an archery-only season. They also reported that most of the meat was left to waste.

Authorities warned that if convicted, the Schuberts could face fines exceeding $60,000 and potential jail time.
