Opinion: Why Congress must act to protect rural health care access.

In small towns across Idaho, we take care of our neighbors — not just to borrow a cup of sugar, but to support them when they are sick.

That’s why, as a rural physician, I aim to care for all who walk through our doors. But, with a nationwide doctor shortage, rising costs and dwindling Medicare payments to physician practices in rural areas, it’s becoming more and more difficult to achieve this goal.
