Young entrepreneurs sold a variety of wares at the final Kids’ Vending Day of the season on Wednesday at the Homer Farmers Market.
The market hosted three Kids’ Vending Days this year, one each in June, July and August, for the purpose of “engaging youth in agricultural and entrepreneurial activities and education, while developing social and math skills,” per their website. Staff said there were nine kids’ booths at the market on Wednesday. Several of the vendors said it was their first time selling at the market.
Merchandise available for sale ranged from baked goods and lemonade to fine arts and handicrafts. Presley-Riven Willden and Mailea Willden, working the “Riven’s Relics” booth, sold painted rocks, clay sculptures and jewelry. Avery Rennolds sold snapdragon stems in four colors,
