It's long been said that one should "never underestimate the power of a woman." And nowhere have I seen this more powerfully demonstrated than at the inaugural Desert women's clubs lunch celebrating current and past leaders' years of service.
Arriving at The Classic Club on July 27 and seeing only a few cars, I initially thought I had mistaken the day or time. But upon entering, I was warmly greeted by Sylvia Baran, president of the GFWC Woman's Club of Indio, and there in the private dining room were a few ladies.
