From the age of 7 to 17, Earl Scruggs, famed Bluegrass musician grew up, discovered his three-fingered style of picking and nurtured his musical style in a tiny, four room house on Riverside Road just outside the town of Boiling Springs.
The house is still standing, paint peeling, chimney collapsed, and the inside stripped to the bones.
Still, there is a reverance surrounding the simple structure and even in its current state, it attracts fans from all over the world.
Now, the Earl Scruggs Center is working on a special project that will not only preserve and tell the story of the famous blue grass musician's childhood history, but the story of so many Cleveland County families in the 1940s.
The home is being restored as a museum and a mecca for music lovers.
