Spain update sees tourists told to 'avoid'

Holidaymakers and other people in Spain have been issued an alert and told to "avoid" certain activities during the heatwave the European nation is currently experiencing. Earlier today, Friday, Spain's meteorological service AEMET declared there is now a "very high or extreme fire danger in most of the country".

A post from AEMET on X, formerly Twitter , continued: "The danger will remain at very high or extreme levels during the weekend and Monday, days when the heatwave affecting us since the beginning of the month continues."
