Birmingham Police have arrested a man for fatally shooting a Parker High School football coach.

De'corlion Robinson is charged with killing Demetrice Beverly at an apartment complex on Lakeshore Parkway Wednesday night.

Beverly was an assistant coach for the Parker High Thundering Herd, who won their first state championship in school history last year.

The school released a statement on Beverly's death, calling the husband and father a "mentor and friend whose impact will live on through the countless lives he touched."
