RICHMOND, Va. (WVIR) - Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares is suing the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), alleging it has failed to comply with a U.S. Supreme Court ruling guaranteeing full education benefits to veterans.

The suit , filed Thursday, August 14, in the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, names the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America as co-plaintiffs.

Several individual veterans, including James Rudisill—the decorated Army veteran whose case went to the Supreme Court—are also joining the lawsuit.

“Veterans who qualify for benefits should receive their full benefits—full stop,” said Miyares. “The U.S. Supreme Court ruled that veterans eligible for the Montgomery and Post-9/11 G.I. Bills are entitled to full benefit
