Police have arrested and charged a 36-year-old man in connection with a serious assault in Edinburgh city centre.

The incident took place on Queensferry Street around 11.40pm on Tuesday, 12 August, 2025.

A 39-year-old man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.

Police said that the 36-year-old man is due to appear in court at a later date.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
