DES MOINES, Iowa -- A new free event is making its debut at the Elwell Family Park at the Iowa State Fair on Friday.

The Iowa State Fair is bringing the first-ever lineman rodeo to the state fair and the state of Iowa itself.

The event comprises four different events with 15 teams of three competing against one another for the title and the championship belt buckle.

Setup started on Thursday morning with crews installing 29 poles in four lines for each of the competitions.

Chaz Allen, Executive Director of the Iowa Utility Association, explained what the four different tasks are for competitors.
