DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - A man has been arrested after he was wanted by police for attacking a homeless man at the Davenport Skatepark back in June.
Thursday, at approximately 10:51 p.m., Davenport police officers conducted a traffic stop on Deonte Anderson, 23, according to a media release from police. Anderson tried to run from police, but he was caught shortly after and arrested.
Anderson was wanted on charges of willful injury causing serious injury in connection to the June assault at the skatepark, police said. He was also wanted on multiple outstanding warrants.
The victim, 34-year-old Eldon Caruthers , suffered numerous fractures and brain injuries, had a stroke and was partially paralyzed, his family told TV6 Investigates. He also was unable to communicate since the attack.
