A dead whale has washed up on a North East beach sparking a council warning to members of the public. Northumberland County Council has issued a warning after the sea creature was discovered on Newbiggin-by-the-Sea East Beach.
The marine mammal was initially spotted on the shoreline at around 7pm on Wednesday, having previously been seen drifting in waters near Cambois. Northumbria Police has confirmed that an officer attended the scene on Thursday afternoon, with the force working to maintain public distance from the carcass due to bacteria presenting a considerable health hazard.
