Swords, cleavers and an ice pick have been seized by police in Teesside blade hotspots. Cleveland Police officers targeted locations across Middlesbrough , Redcar and Cleveland, Stockton and Hartlepool this week, in a bid to strip weapons from the "wrong hands".

Several arrests were also made. It comes after a month-long surrender scheme in July, allowing people to hand in blades at police stations safely, legally and without repercussion, before a ban on owning ninja swords came into place on August 1.

Such weapons are now illegal to own and have been included in the list of dangerous, prohibited items already banned - including zombie knives, zombie-style knife and machetes, butterfly knives, and push daggers. Here's who and what was targeted this week:
