A Long Beach man spent two days trapped behind a waterfall in Northern California before being found by a rescue team.

According to the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, they received a report of that 46-year-old Ryan Wardwell of Long Beach had last been seen at the top of the “Seven Teacups” waterfalls near the North Fork of the Kern River on the evening of Aug. 10.

On Monday, the Sheriff’s Department began a search for Wardwell after he did not return to his car Sunday evening. They used aircrafts that were equipped with cameras and infrared technology.

The search continued Tuesday morning with the help of the TCSO Swiftwater-Dive Rescue Team (SDRT) and Search and Rescue (SAR) teams, the department said.
