A 31-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a vehicle Thursday night in the Pocono Mountains region, authorities said.

The crash occurred about 11 p.m. in the area of Routes 191 and 390 in Paradise Township, Monroe County, according to a news release.

The rider, Matthew R. Hirsch of Stroudsburg, was pronounced dead at 12:34 a.m. Friday in the emergency department of Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Salisbury Township, Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio said in the release.

The cause of death was multiple traumatic injuries due to the crash, and the death was ruled accidental.

Additional information on the crash was not immediately available.

It is under investigation by the coroner’s office and Pennsylvania State Police at Stroudsburg.
