BUSNELL, Fla. (WFLA) — The Sumter County Sheriff's Office is investigating a possible bomb threat at South Sumter Middle School.

All students and staff members were evacuated to the Sumter Counter Fairgrounds.

Deputies swept the campus to ensure there was no threat to the school.

"Parents/guardians wishing to check out their student should come to the Sumter County Fairgrounds and bring a valid photo ID for verification," the sheriff's office said. "We appreciate your cooperation and patience as we work with law enforcement to ensure the safety of everyone involved. Further updates will be provided as soon as possible."
