As of August, there were five homes built in the community. Officials with the Housing Development Alliance say home owners are expected to move in next month.

Mindy Miller, Director of Development and Communications at HDA, said the homes will give flood survivors new beginnings.
“Everybody knows that flood survivors have a big need to make sure these homes are affordable. I mean, they’ve lost so much. So, you know, as a non-profit builder, we’re building homes that are energy efficient all the time, but with the solar panels it makes them even more energy efficient,” Miller said.
