The modular housing sites set up for the homeless at Montreal’s Hippodrome site are expected to be ready by end-of-summer.

The project in Côte-des-Neiges–NDG is still under construction.

It was announced last winter and this site, alongside one in Ahunstic-Cartierville on Rue Louvain, were slated to open in the spring. But that deadline was then pushed back to July.

CityNews received a tour of the site to view its progress in early July.

The City says mid- to late September seems more likely for the grand opening of the spaces that will have 28 rooms — accommodating up to 30 people.

A spokesperson says that work is on schedule. The construction is said to be in the final phase, with more work needed on the exterior, like landscaping.
