Nearly all the Harrisburg Boys & Girls Club equipment in its John N. Hall Clubhouse was damaged, destroyed or stolen during a Sunday break-in.

Staff members arrived at the clubhouse at 17th and Hanover Street on Monday and discovered all of the building’s electronics were either damaged or missing. Every TV was destroyed, and computers, video games, and bicycles were stolen, according to Executive Director Mark Hawthorne.

Handheld games like Jenga and Connect4 were destroyed when someone coated them and every other game with the building’s fire extinguishers, Hawthorne said.

Hawthorne said the building was “ransacked” and has cost the club about $12,000 in damages. He said refilling the fire extinguishers alone costs nearly $1,000.
